“Whoever rushes to satisfy his friends’ every whim

Produces temporary pleasure but sows hatred for a future day.”

 

ὅστις δὲ τοῖς φίλοισι πάντα πρὸς χάριν

πράσσων ὁμιλεῖ, τὴν παραυτίχ’  ἡδονήν

ἔχθραν καθίστησ’ εἰς τὸν ὕστερον χρόνον.
