“Let not the bloom of youth be plucked, nor let man-destroying Ares, Aphrodite’s bedmate, cut off the flower.”
ἥβας δ᾽ ἄνθος ἄδρεπτον
ἔστω, μηδ᾽ Ἀφροδίτας
εὐνάτωρ βροτολοιγὸς Ἄ-
ρης κέρσειεν ἄωτον.
