Shitty Life = Shitty Death

“The thrush shits destruction for itself.”

κίχλα χέζει αὑτῇ κακόν

This is a proverb quoted in Aldus Manutius’ preface to his publication of The Cornucopia of Amalthea and The Gardens of Adonis. The saying is based upon the use of bird droppings to make bird lime, the sticky substance used to trap birds.

    1. I was thinking the same thing! I thought that this quote, more than any other I had ever read, perfectly encapsulated the human condition.
